Nayuleska's thoughts
I
thought Emily was special and had wanted her to have a special power,
so it was amazing when my wish came true. Unfortunately with power comes
responsibility and hardship.
Emily had to deal with two people
who she'd hated for years. Turning the other fin and forgiving them was
pretty tough. But when she did it, she learned a valuable skill. Plus
she knew more about the two people and realised they weren't so bad
after all.
Sadly Millie isnt in the final showdown with Neptune,
but it was still extremely dramatic. Shona and Emily go through a
realistic rough patch, but friendship wins in the end. There is an
anti-mermaid movement that is applicable to our modern world in terms of
prejudice & stereotyping. People can work together when they put in
an effort & compromise.
Once again Emily's adventures
remind me of one of my favourite shows, Winx. Trouble follows the Winx
around as trouble follows Emily.

The prejudice Emily faces at school happens in Winx, when Bloom is the focus of disgruntled parents due to the enemy targeting her. Friendship - and life - has plenty of ups and downs, as shown in this 10/10 read.
